Afric du Canada
I've started this business with a friend from Kenya, we have met online and talked about our goals and discovered that we shared common goals... Commerce and by doing so we could help families in need generate a revenue. My friend knew a lot of artisans and put me in contact with them. Since then I've extended my business to Ivory Coast, Cameroun, Rwanda, South Africa, Benin and still growing. I've applied the same formula with the other countries and adding the community approach to teach management of their assets.
The jewelry, clothing, sandals, batiks and paintings come from various countries in Africa... We pride ourselves to promote fair trade when doing business with the artisans. We have eyes and ears in many countries still unexplored, searching for local artisans. We have two goals, promoting Africa and its beauty and creating a micro-economy in the shape of co-ops. Teaching and helping the artisans to achieve autonomy and creating their own bank to help the community around them.
